Grilling on the go can be either chaotic or organized and done well. Whether it’s a birthday party or a picnic, having a good portable grill can greatly enhance the activity by providing freshly cooked food along with the fun. This is why I bought the Cuisinart Venture Portable Gas Grill.
Before I bought the Cuisinart Venture Portable Gas Grill, I had a 22″ Blackstone Culinary Omnivore that I used for my daughter’s parties that were away from home. The Blackstone cooked decently but it was still a griddle so it didn’t cook like a grate grill does. The Blackstone folded up and was portable because it could be put into the back of my SUV with plenty of space left over. After having not used the Blackstone for a while, I learned it was a lot to maintain in which I had to season the griddle stone which took an hour or more. After this experience, I decided to sell the Blackstone and get a traditional portable gas grill.
When I was looking for a new portable gas grill, the main factors I was looking for were: 1lb propane compatible, 1-2 burners, compact, easy to carry, and good form. I wanted 1-2 burners because I didn’t want the propane to be used up quickly and I wasn’t going to be cooking that much food. I wanted it to obviously be compact and in good form so it would fit in my car. I wanted it to be easy to carry because usually when I am using a portable grill I have to take it somewhere and get it out of the back of my SUV along with all of the other stuff I have to bring along. I kept looking and came upon the Cuisinart Venture Portable Gas Grill which was unlike any other portable grill I have seen. The grill was all-in-one and the 1lb propane tank fit inside when it was to be carried. The top of the grill is a cutting board and there is a handle for easy carrying.

The first time I used the grill was for my daughter’s birthday party. I cooked around 100 hot dogs on it (obviously not all at once) and it heated up quickly every time I had to cook another batch and it cooked well. It was easy to clean after and there wasn’t much grease to clean, although if you do get a lot of grease there is a grease tray on the bottom. I used the 1lb propane tank I had and it did not run out and seemed to have plenty left when I was done grilling. I was a little worried about the grill being a 1 burner grill but it cooked well and in a reasonable amount of time.

All in all, if you need a good portable grill that’s priced decently and is great for carrying as an all-in-one, I would recommend the Cuisinart Venture Portable Gas Grill. It’s compact, easy to carry, and grills well. It even stores nicely in my garage when we are not using it. You can’t go wrong with this grill.
